Entangled Fate
Fiction is one of the first genres I ever fell in love with. In middle school, I found myself devouring books, from romance to fantasy and everything in between, and I just couldn't stop. It's also through this genre that I discovered my desire to help other authors take their readers somewhere new, into another world, building an escape from reality.
“Stories matter. Many stories matter. Stories have been used to dispossess and to malign, but stories can also be used to empower and to humanize. Stories can break the dignity of a people, but stories can also repair that broken dignity.”
- Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Co-produced in 2021 with Serena Valide, this book is one of the longest projects I've ever worked on. Written in French, it follows two teenagers, Morgan and Paris, both fighting to survive in the world they were raised in. Between love, betrayal, and heartbreak, this story is meant to take its readers on a whirlwind of emotions.
Still in progress, this project was written for my Advanced Fiction class. It follows Dae and Jordan as they navigate the push and pull between their love and immigration laws, all while searching for Dae's long-lost sister. Between borders and longing this story is meant to pull readers into a world where love is never simple.
