This essay seeks to demonstrate how the Hunger Games films draw parallels with current and former societies, through the critical theories of Marxism and Postcolonialism. In order to do so, this paper examines President Snow's internal debate as a young man, leading to the creation of Panem society, which is a representation of both theories.
